Abstract

The principal goal of this article is to gauge the challenges that are faced in the process of design, development, and deployment of the downsized floating model of an offshore wind turbine. A 100:1 scale model of a ballast/spar buoy buoyant wind turbine is designed and built. The model is then subjected to testing, i.e., preliminary validation check for the design is done with the help of a locally created water flume tank environment.
