Valve Surgery to Treat Connective Tissue Disease: Comparison Between Valve Replacement and Aortic Root Replacement

Approximately a quarter of a century has passed since the David procedure for valve-sparing aortic root replacement (VSARR) (reimplantation method) was first published. We discuss some comparisons between this procedure and the Yacoub procedure (remodeling), another form of VSARR.
