Abstract
As a legacy of the socialist state, FYP is very important in regulating economic and spatial development in China. FYP’s full name is economic and social development five-year planning, which was evolved from socialist economic plan. Nowadays, not confined to economic field, FYP has been transformed with comprehensive characteristics. The FYP’s current development philosophies, governance tools and practice are very different from its predecessors.
