Abstract

As technology is advancing day by day, people are trying to make the most use of it, especially in the field of automation. They want to automate every possible thing from an electronic appliance such as light, fan, heater to monitor their home by providing intrusion detection or surveillance, remotely. They want automated systems over manual systems because automation makes life easier, provides security, and saves time as well as electricity. Here comes the role of Internet of things (IoT) which makes automation possible. This research paper presents a system which is built on Raspberry Pi, acting as the main controller of the system. Pi-Face Relay Plus or Key Studio Board acting as the interface between appliances and the Pi, letting the user automate devices such as LED light through a Python application. The application has buttons to turn on/off the devices. We are also using DHT11 sensors for humidity and temperature. The system has a camera attached for taking images and videos.
