Abstract
The lateral arm flap was first reported by Ruyao Song in 1982, and its anatomy and clinical application were investigated for repair of soft-tissue defects at the limbs by Katsaros in 1984. Mingjiang Liu designed a lateral arm perforator flap modified from the lateral arm flap in 2011. Transposition or advance of the lateral arm perforator flap is suitable for repairing the lack of elbow parenchyma, and free form of the flap could be used for repair of defect at hand, foot, and the cephalofacial area.
