Abstract

Technologies have now gone much far extent in the field of IoT. Internet of things mainly focuses on making an electronic device “live”. It plays a vital role in the field of security with any system or environment that can be implemented more efficiently. The model is developed for the distance-based security system which can ensure low power usage with portability, mobility and installation facility. In this modern era, almost every device needs the above three features to be included as basic necessity. The minicomputer which is other name of the Raspberry Pi 3 model has been used to develop the system. This paper explains about the secured surveillance system which can be implemented in any smart environment where it is needed to monitor the particular object or scenario based on coverage distance. The system is built using the two modules—distance-based motion capturing module and live message-based capturing module. The first module deals with the activation of Pi camera to capture the images after nearby moving target comes within the range to alert the user through e-mail. The second module is concerned with capturing of current images through a messenger application lively. Hence, the proposed model is built using the Raspberry Pi 3 to control the above-mentioned modules. PIR motion sensor will always be actively waiting for any motion to be detected. The moment PIR detects, it will enable ultrasonic sensor to calculate the distance, and if the target is within the range, Pi camera will capture the image to alert the user through an e-mail. This process will continue as a loop, and if the user needs an immediate live image without any motion encountered, it can be obtained through a request message using TeleBot messenger application.
