Abstract

This paper is the extension of the work that explores the overall working of the proposed Smart Semantic information retrieval (IR) system. The aim of the proposed design is to improve the performance of the popular keyword based retrieval system using semantic approach. It seek the novel concept of Query prototype and Query similarity which is a promising paradigm of the proposed design for matching the user entered query with the exact prototype defined in the system and thereby identifying the service and accordingly providing the direct and relevant requested information to the user. The web is crawled and the information is classified into the various classes called services. The fetched results include the direct and relevant URL’s of that service and thereby drastically improve the performance over the current information retrieval systems in terms of recall and precision.
