Sugarcane is the main sugar crop in China and occupies an important position in agricultural economic income. In each year, the production loss which is caused by pests reaches to a few percent to 10%, or even more. With the expansion of sugarcane planting area, the change of agricultural farming system, introduce the seedcane frequently, the abuse of chemical pesticide, coupled with the complicated climate and environment in Chinese sugarcane production area, which causing new changes in the dynamic relationship between crops and pests, pests and natural enemies; the kind of pests has been increased, their occurred degree has been rising, the population of natural enemies has been decreasing, and the control work is more passive. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 360 sugarcane pests in China. The main pests that seriously affect the growth of sugarcane and often make huge losses include sugarcane borer, sugarcane cotton aphid, sugarcane thrips, sugarcane mealybug, sugarcane beetle, sugarcane stubble weevil, sugarcane stem weevil, sugarcane termite, sugarcane root aphid, sugarcane longicorn, sugarcane wireworm, sugarcane locust, sugarcane hopper, sugarcane stink bug, etc. (An and Guan 2009; Li 2010; Huang and Li 2011, 2014). For many years, Sugarcane Research Institute, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, made a systematical deep research on the main pests in the main sugarcane-planting areas in China based on production practice. The distribution and occurrence and damage of main pests in sugarcane-planting area were clarified, and the practical and comprehensive control measures were developed. In this chapter, 40 pests that often make huge losses in sugarcane production are systematically described with clear color photos and scientific, accurate words. The contents include occurrence and damage, morphological identification, occurrence and life style, and control measures of sugarcane pests.
