Abstract
Biliary atresia, inborn errors of metabolism, autoimmune and Wilsons’ disease are some of the common indications for liver transplantation in children. The anaesthetic team dealing with paediatric transplantation should be able to anticipate problems and try to avert it with pre-emptive strategies. Securing a vascath pre-emptively in child with urea cycle defect so that CRRT could be initiated if there is any hyperammonic crisis is a classical example.
