Abstract

The Robertson-Wride (RW) model is widely used for liquefaction potential assessment. This paper studies the model uncertainty of the Robertson-Wride (RW) model for liquefaction potential assessment. It is found that the accuracy of the RW model may vary from one region to another. The RW model is more accurate in predicting case histories before 2010 than in predicting case histories after 2010. There is a substantial amount of uncertainty in how to interpret past case histories, and such uncertainty has important effects on model uncertainty characterization.
