Abstract
Special equipment was established for electric hot machining (EHM). The Surface integrity of GH4169 nickel base superalloy by EHM was studied. The influences of cutting speed, cutting depth and current on the surface roughness were analyzed based on the experiments. The results showed that the surface with Ra 0.3429 μm of GH4169 could be achieved under the optimum process conditions by EHM. The rank of machining parameters’ influence magnitude was cutting depth, current and cutting speed. The work hardening on the surface of GH4169 was obviously decreased compared with ordinary cutting. The residual stress was tensile stress.
