Abstract

This book forms an interface between research on interlanguage pragmatics focusing on five speech acts performed by Chinese learners of English, and the teaching of speech acts to those learners. It begins by exploring some key concepts including pragmatics and interlanguage pragmatics, and their relations with learners’ L1 culture .
