Abstract

The paper proposes the design of X-band-pass filter. It has wide pass band with miniaturization of size using folded substrate-integrated waveguide (FSIW) technique. The paper also shows the effect of the slots in central conducting septum of FSIW on resonant frequency, impedance bandwidth, and return loss. In this paper, two different filters are simulated using HFSS v13 by introducing C and E slot in central metallic septum, respectively. The results so obtained are compared depicting the effect of introducing slot shapes on the performance of the band-pass filter. The result shows better performance (in terms of bandwidth, return loss, and compactness) of E slot FSIW as compared with C slot FSIW.
