Abstract

Tahir-Kheli provides a summary of immigrating to the USA as professionals and making a total commitment to becoming Americans. Education is the key ingredient in assimilation and a doctoral degree is the vehicle for engagement. Women face challenges in multiple ways. Some of these are highlighted to reflect the times. International Relations and foreign policy issues relating to the USA and South Asia become a focus of study. Motherhood completes the picture and makes multitasking a necessity.
