Abstract

Broadband design of CPW-fed printed monopole with plus shaped fractal slots using offset feed is proposed. It yields impedance bandwidth of 66% in 6 GHz frequency band that covers most of the C-band. Further, detailed analysis of antenna structure and modes is carried out. The proposed antenna shows broadside radiation pattern over the bandwidth with a maximum gain of 7.5 dBi. Experiments have been performed on fabricate prototype, and the obtained results show a good agreement with the simulated results.
