Abstract
Chapter 5, “Arts and Crafts,” was written by Li Yukun and Yan Yong and translated by Xue Ping. The chapter outlines the history of Chinese arts and crafts, highlighting painted pottery in the prehistoric era, bronze crafts in the Shang and Zhou dynasties, lacquerware and porcelain in the Han and Tang dynasties, and chinaware from the Song to the Qing dynasties.
