Abstract
Wang Yahui, a 28 year-old male from Lushan County in Henan Province, was arrested and detained by police on suspicion of theft on 18th February 2010. Three days later his family was told that he had died in detention. The cause of death was cited as sickness brought on from drinking boiled water when in custody.
