Abstract

With the advent of the Semantic Web and emergence of extremely large knowledge repositories, community-driven ontology development and support has become inevitable. However, such multi-agent paradigms can be prone to unwarranted and unjustified modifications by individually rational or selfish agents. Such changes can result in an inaccurate modeling of the domain being represented. We propose a framework, based on an adaption of the social Ultimatum Game, for restricting such illegitimate modifications to shared ontologies. Simulation of this model is done on two standard ontologies, and the results show that the proposed framework is able to segregate update requests from legitimate and rogue agents.
