Abstract
“Tumescent” is derived from Latin, meaning swollen or being swollen. In 1977, Dr. Fisher from Italy introduced a new term “liposuction.” Liposuction around this time was studied intensely by European dermatologists. Before this period, many patients who received liposuction using the “dry” technique and the “wet” technique died during the operation, as there was no proper liposuction.
