Abstract
Cancers in the paediatric age group may be due to genetic alterations and environmental influences, with unknown preventive measures available. Metastatic disease is seen in 80% of cases. Combined modality management with intent for organ and function preservation with reduction in treatment-related toxicity is of prime importance. Most of these tumours are extremely responsive to therapy with remission rates of around 60%.
