Abstract

An active RFID tag with 2.4 GHz radio communication function and LF wake-up module is designed in this paper. On the basis of this, a smart shelf system is proposed to reduce the time of searching for specified goods and improve operation efficiency of warehousing management. The location of the tags attached to the items on the shelf is estimated by the weighted centroid localization algorithm. With the deployments of the assistant LF label nodes, the shelf doesn’t have to be divided into several fixed electromagnetic shielding space. These advantages help the shelf to achieve greater flexibility of cargo storage management.
