Abstract

The Western China Development Strategy was launched in 1999. Guided by the strategy and the Scientific Outlook on Development, the western provinces have worked hard to push through various reforms, to boost cooperation with other provinces and countries, to improve macroeconomic regulation, and to transform the way their economy advances.
