In this paper, an analysis of series–parallel and total cross-tied photovoltaic array (size 3 × 3) is investigated under irregular irradiation conditions or shading conditions. The artificial shading effect is considered on the PV array with the progression of shadow to investigate the shading effect on PV performance in terms of power and voltage at GMPP and power losses. The performance analysis of system is agreed out in terms of power and voltage at global maximum power point, power and current losses.
