Abstract

Neutronics experiments are essential for fusion neutronics research. They are mainly devoted to the measurement of fundamental physical parameters and quantities of fusion systems, the validation of the neutronics performance of key components, and the gathering of information about important quantities such as nuclear data. Various approaches and methods have been developed for measuring a wide range of quantities and parameters in fusion neutronics experiments and are continuously being improved. This chapter is devoted to introducing some representative experimental methods in fusion neutronics studies and is divided into four sections, which introduce the characteristics of fusion neutronics experiments, detection techniques, methods of measuring neutron cross-sections, and methods of measuring macroscopic integrals in turn.
