Abstract

Hydroquinone (HQ) is an electroactive product formed from hydroquinone diphosphate (HQDP) reaction with an alkaline phosphatase (ALP). Despite the advantages, this reaction is not very often used for the immunochemical assays and was not yet described for lateral flow assay. In the literature, only basic behavior of HQ formed in immunochemical assay can be found. In our work we studied deeply the effect of common lateral flow buffers and materials on the electrochemical behavior of HQ using different electrochemical methods in order to select conditions and the most convenient and sensitive method for the further application of HQDP in lateral flow immunoassay.
