Abstract

There are many cases of tectono-geomorphic forces prompting changes in lake-catchment systems. The changes are recorded also in lacustrine sediments. Historical and long-term tectono (or seismo)-geomorphic forces are discussed for Lake Biwa system. Modern tectono (seismo)-geomorphic activities are checked for three lake-catchment systems in Yunnan, China, and Kawauso-ike in Kobe, Japan. Long-term tectono-geomorphic activities are examined using Lake Baikal system. Historical and modern tectono (volcano)-geomorphic activities are studied mainly using Lake Onuma system in Hokkaido, Japan.
