Abstract

This chapter briefly introduces the whole structure of this book, from the introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, to conclusion. Specifically, this chapter introduces the background of the business and cultural environment of China with respect of corporate social responsibility; the research gap of how CSR is perceived and implemented by companies in developing countries like China from a cultural and ownership perspective by using a qualitative research method; delimitation and contribution of the study. This study is the first attempt that brings the I-Ching, the origin of traditional Chinese culture , into the discussion of cultural influence on CSR in China, which has been given limited attention in the past, and as such provides new insights to the study of CSR and PR in an international context.
