Abstract

Load frequency control is the core problem in distributed power generation. A novel technique is employed to control frequency with the help of variable structure controller. Here the small-scale hydroelectric power plant (SS-HEPP) is a best alternative source of energy in remote area. SS-HEPP is used for modeling and simulation in MATLAB. Also, the conventional sliding mode controller and PI controller with proposed control strategy are compared.
