Abstract

Due to its unique property of extreme confinement of electromagnetic (EM) field on the metal surface, there is a great potential application prospect for SPP to be used in photonics integration. Base on this property, this dissertation achieve some interesting progresses on the in-plane SPP modulation as well as the far field light modulation with plasmonic structure. The major results and conclusions are listed in this chapter.
