Abstract
The MRI scan on the next page shows a large amount of cerebrospinal fluid at the centre of the brain. Cerebrospinal fluid can be found at several locations around the brain. Elderly people tend to have more cerebrospinal fluid between the brain and the skull because the brain shrinks, while the volume inside the skull remains the same. A great deal of cerebrospinal fluid can also be found more in the central area of the brain surrounded by brain tissue.
