A Study of Factors Related to Government Online Information Disclosure Platforms and How They are Rated

Abstract

This study is based on a telephone survey of 1080 respondents from 36 cities all over China conducted by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Social Survey Center, with the aim of understanding the use of local online government information disclosure platforms and the public’s ratings of such platforms. We found that the respondent’s profession type, perceived level of social safety, and sense of fairness are related to the use of such platforms, while the respondent’s household registration type, income level, sense of social justice in real life, awareness of harmony, ratings of traditional media and assessment of the current state of order in China’s online space are related to their ratings of such platforms.
