Abstract
The main tasks in this seventh and final chapter include drawing threads between the previous chapters and clarifying the implications of findings gathered thus far to ICC-oriented EFL education in Japanese JHS. In previous chapters, I explored (a) nihonjinron and native-speakerism, (b) theoretical and methodological approaches to conducting critical analyses of printed and spoken texts, and (c) the presence and importance of nihonjinron and native-speakerism to recent MEXT policies on EFL education in Japanese secondary schools.
