Light Amplification in Photorefractive Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Blends Containing Quarter-Thiophene Photoconductive Dopant

Abstract

Ferroelectric liquid crystal blends containing a photoconductive chiral dopant and an electron trap reagent exhibit a large photorefractivity and fast response. They can be utilized in dynamic amplification of moving optical signals. In the present study, the enhancement of working wavelength to a longer wavelength regions was investigated. A series of photoconductive chiral dopants was prepared and the photorefractive properties were examined.
