Abstract

Businesses and organizations are an essential part of the communities in which they work. Their association’s long-term achievement is related to the healthy relations with an extensive variety of persons, communities, and organizations. “Firms know that their business cannot succeed in societies that are failing—whether this is due to social or environmental challenges, or governance problems” (Honhen in Corporate social responsibility: an implementation guide for business. International Institute for Sustainable Development, Canada, p. 3, 2007). Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is described as an organization’s response to consumer and civil society pressures that demand more involvement from the organization in the wake of issues such as environmental degradation, threats to human rights, and illbeing of labour in supply chain of markets.
