    In “Bu Su Zhi Ke (不速之客)” (2014), I have discussed the case of Evangeline Vallejos, a foreign domestic helper who attempted to apply for permanent residency in Hong Kong after having worked here for 26 years. Despite fulfilling all requirements for the right of abode, Vallejos’s case was overturned by the Court of Final Appeal in 2012.
