Abstract
The shared interests of Russia and China include the following: to break free of a unipolar system, to preserve the principle of the sovereignty of states, at the core of which is the Security Council, to reach similar outcomes on regional conflicts, to reform the international financial system, to boost each other as economic partners, and to achieve the same aims in Central Asia. Both negatively react to “interference in one’s internal affairs,” and support each other in the battle against separatism. More and more, they do not accept the values that the West labels “universal.” Although Russia and China would have continued to draw closer even without the Ukrainian crisis, this accelerates the process, and a significant deepening of relations is unavoidable, as Greater Eurasia is taking shape.
