Abstract

In this chapter, we elucidate the frequency domain processing algorithms for an azimuth-variant (AV) bistatic SAR configuration. We first formate the two-dimensional spectrum of the AV mode in a flexible expression, and we provide the formation of the range migration. Based on the spectrum, three algorithms are shown. We first present the range Doppler algorithm for AV mode. Next, we present the interpolation-free chirp scaling algorithm in detail. To perform CSA, some basic parameters are derived, including the effective chirp rate, the expression of bistatic RCM and the chirp scaling factor. Finally, we present the Wavenumber Domain Algorithm (WDA) to process the extreme AV mode, spaceborne/airborne hybrid bistatic configuration. To validate the proposed algorithms, we focus on the data from the TerraSAR-X/PAMIR experiment with the RDA and the CSA, and we validate their effectiveness by comparing them with the back-projection algorithm.
