Abstract

This paper presents a modeling approach using the system dynamics to simulate and analyze the economic effects of aquaculture in a wetland. Setiu Wetland is a part of Setiu district that upholds tradition in fishery and maritime-based industry but the area is left behind in terms of economy and livelihood. The average household income in the Minapolitan area in Setiu ranges from 200MYR to 700MYR per month and its population growth is 1.93 % per year. This study aims to recreate a model that represents the economy and livelihood of Setiu Minapolitan area. The study engaged Vinsim software to simulate the environment and to perform a better analysis.
