Abstract
A real-time digital simulation research and closed-loop testing platform for the security and stability control devices is built based on RTDS in this paper, which includes the simulation models for Lingzhou-Shaoxing (Lingshao) ±800 kV UHVDC transmission system, and the 3-level functions of the master control, pole control, and valve control is simulated. Based on the research and testing platform, the security and stability control strategies for N-2 faults occurring in AC transmission lines and other DC system faults of the Lingshao UHVDC system are tested. The research and testing results verify the accuracy of the control strategies and the accuracy of the simulation models. And the new research and testing method need no access to actual UHVDC control and protection system, which saves the testing cost and time significantly.
