Abstract

As an important engineered safety system, in the event of failure of the normal feedwater systems, the Emergency Feedwater System operates to supply feedwater to steam generator and remove residual core heat. In this work, the resistance characteristics of the Emergency Feedwater System of the third-generation reactor are studied by FLOWMASTER. The effects of the aperture of the orifice and the opening rate of the control valves on feedwater flow rate were analyzed, and the reasonable aperture of the orifice and the opening rate of the control valves were determined to ensure that the system meets the requirements of the third-generation nuclear power plant.
