Abstract

In the light-water reactor (LWR) nuclear power plant, different countries, different units with different legal dosimeters to monitor external irradiation. In China, mainly takes TLD as the legal dosimeter, but the detection accuracy of EPD is higher than TLD in the low-dose situation, and the external irradiation levels in nuclear power plants especially the new units are generally lower than the MDL of TLD. Still using TLD as legal dosimeters would lead to inaccurate personal dose. In order to improve the accuracy of the personal dose data, by setting a “boundary” of personal dose management to make full use of the advantages of TLD and EPD is an effective method. The TLD and EPD complementary management can ensure personal dose data accurate and reliable. It can provide a new idea for personal dose optimization and innovation management.
