Abstract
This chapter elaborates on Sister Katherine Lui’s final term as superior general of the Precious Blood Sisters from 1970 to 1973. Also it discusses the contribution of Bishop Francis Hsu Chen-ping to the local Church. It moves onto the Twelfth and the Thirteenth General Chapters of the Precious Blood Sisters in 1970 and 1973 respectively. Then it highlights the sisters’ response to the Second Vatican Council through the publication of their 1973 Handbook. This chapter emphasizes the community life of the sisters, their spirituality, apostolic work, educational endeavors, medical services, and social services. It briefly mentions the remaining years of the 1970s with particular attention to service outside the congregational establishment. In conclusion, this chapter talks about the Precious Blood Sisters’ visits to mainland China in the early years of the twenty-first century. It states that the Hong Kong Mission is an indispensable part of the Catholic Church in China.
