Colposcopy of Female Genital Tract

Abstract

Colposcopic assessment of the grade of abnormality and therefore the risk of progression is the key to the process of managing a screen-positive woman. Colposcopy is an important tool in identifying atypical transformation zone, for defining the grade of the lesion, area for targted biopsy and for excisional therapy. The chapter discusses the colposcopic features which help to distinguish low grade from high grade disease with ample illustrations.
