Abstract
2007 was a watershed year in the real estate market. First, private-ownership housing was beginning to take the place of former public housing and dominate the market. Former public housing still accounted for 60–70 % of the total transactions. The figure fell moderately from 2008 to 2009, until private-ownership housing’s market share exceeded 50 % in 2010 and then 80 % in 2014. Second, the industry went through a shakeup during the 2007 financial crisis. Zdhouse fell from its height; 5i5j expanded slowly and cautiously, Centaline remained tepid, Homelink developed rapidly in spite of the global recession, the number of offices growing from 300 offices in 2007 to 500 in 2010.
