Abstract

This paper studies the nonlinear dynamic behavior exhibited by a switched-capacitor DC-DC regulator in linear-mode. Numerical simulations are presented not only to illustrate our theoretical results, but also to exhibit the system’s complex dynamical behavior, such as the cascade of period-doubling bifurcation in orbits of period 2, 4, 8, 16 quasi-periodic orbits, and the chaotic sets. Lyapunov exponents are numerically computed to further confirm the complexity of the dynamical behavior. Finally, a chaotic attractor in the converter is obtained by simulating the circuit with PSPICE program.
