Abstract

We address the problem of moving vehicle detection for dynamic traffic environment with moving cameras. The proposed system obtains visual data from cameras mounted on a moving host vehicle. The optical flow method is employed to estimate the movement of the camera and the relative movement of the background. Moving vehicles are detected by difference of velocity to the background movement model.
