Abstract
For the use of ultrasonic guided waves generated by an electromagnetic acoustic transducer for crack inspection in a natural gas pipeline, the guided wave will propagate along the circumferential direction in the pipe, as well as the dispersive characteristics of guided wave propagation. The discussions of dispersion are the basis and fundamentals for the study and application of guided wave theory.
