Abstract

We summarize the achievements of harmonic generation in the extended plasmas. Long plasmas have proven to be an interesting object of studies using the high-order nonlinear optical spectroscopy method. The book demonstrates how one can improve plasma HHG using various concepts of harmonic generation (double-pulse method, multi-component plasma plumes, ablation of nanostructured targets, formation of QPM conditions, use of non-metals as the ablating targets, etc.). We also discuss the future developments in this field.
