Abstract

Deconstructing learning moments across the boundaries of three unique environments has helped me to identify those characteristics of space that encourage learners to Join-Up with learning. Influenced by Palmer (1998), I understand these tendencies as being situated within five thematic areas: bounded openness; charged affability; voice; solitude within community; and deliberate mindfulness.
