Abstract
The difficult part of training horses is its requirement to learn about ourselves. This centrality of self-awareness reminds me of Palmer’s (1998) insistence that we teach who we are. Several other scholars1 also discuss the significance of self-awareness because of the inevitability of bringing our lived experiences into our learning environments.
